![]() ![]() Given that background, if our Legacy Neo's failed today, I would replace them with Neo 2T's by the weekend. I have contemplated upgrading to the Neo 2T but considering we use them for 60-120 minuites each week to ride vides onRouvy, not sure I can justify it at this point for fear of incuring a new set of problems. It is considered the best bike trainer, or perhaps the Tesla. Is it as accurate as the SRMs we used to own? Our Neos were within 2-3% but I dont race anymore and dont really care anymore. Now in its second generation, the Flux 2 Smart trainer uses a heavier 7. Tacx Flux S The Tacx Neo2T is Tacx’s most advanced smart trainer model and a great smart bicycle trainer. Finally came the legacy Tacx Neo, as already mentioned, it just works. A Tacx Genius augmented the trainer stable which from my view was a step back as it increased the setup process by making it pure voodoo to dial in a consistent calibration. The new chipset makes the NEO 2 Smart even quieter than its NEO predecessor. But in the end you cant go wrong with either as the noise difference is not that significant. But the Neo 2T is slightly more quiet than the Kickr. There is a mechanical difference from 2 ro 2T. I can produce 1400W, not pro power but decent enough. I read about this, but not experienced it myself on my Neo2. Unfortunately had to sell that due to my new bike (2021 Trek Emonda) not being compatible with the Kickr V5. It has different and stronger internals, meaning slippage at high power, low cadence has been eliminated. All three of these are accurate (notably so for me with the latest Tacx NEO 2T firmware 0.31). It’s quite a bit quieter than the Hammer 1/Hammer 2 were though, thankfully. The Wahoo KICKR is more intuitive in terms of set-up and storage. No rider has had a major problem with the design material but it is something to be aware of. Next came the Tacx Bushido which was portable and worked great for TT and CX race warmups but the design exacerbated the calibration process. I have had both and definitely prefer the feel of the Kickr V5. Still, the Wahoo KICKR 2018 and Tacx NEO 2T remain incredibly close both are silent (save the drivetrain), while the Saris H3 isn’t. The Tacx Neo 2T is hard plastic, which is still a good option, but it must be handled with more care when riders store and move the trainer around their home. Started with the Tacx Fortius wheel on trainer which I thought at the time was pretty good, save for the fiddling to achieve correct calibrations. It sits in a dry unheated outbuilding and just works.ĭitto. Thu 11:27 amMy Neo on the other hand has been flawless. Compared to its predecessor (the original Tacx Flux), the Flux 2 is equipped with a bigger and stronger resistance unit and a heavier flywheel. The real competition is between the Kickr Move and the Neo 2T + the motion plates. ![]()
